Descrição

Racket sports combine physical agility, tactical analysis, ball, racket and eye coordination, as well as strong psychological characteristics.

These combinations make the subject a challenging one for both sports scientists and coaches.

The First World Congress of Science and Rocket Sports brought together international experts in the field and provided a bridge between sports science research and racket sports practice. These proceedings include selected papers edited and revised after the Congress on areas ranging from physiological stresses to fitness and from equipment to sports medicine.

The major racket sports are covered with the emphasis placed on lawn tennis, squash and badminton. As the first Congress dedicated to this subject, it provides a comprehensive view of current research findings which sports scientists, coaches, physiotherapists, physicians and professionals from the racket sports industries will find both important and useful.
